Insights to the books by Ralph E. Bowman

Unsolved Investigations II

[This book may only be purchased as a Kindle book or paperback through Amazon.]

For the characters in Unsolved Investigations, Ralph reused characters from his Johnny Ringo - Bounty Hunter series. For Unsolved Investigations II, he decided to reuse the names of characters he had created for his five-book Slade - Gun For Hire series.

Ralph wanted each case to show that anyone who paid close enough attention to details and shared information, could solve a case. However, he also wanted notice given as to how overworked law enforcement agencies are, which might be the reason some cases fall through the cracks.

Matt Ringo is now married to Ann McKenna. Ann is the secretary and accountant for Unsolved Investigations, Inc. She also provides some useful insight for some cases.

Each case is a short story. However, the same main characters are in each story.

"Case 4: The Dumpster Victims": Sgt. Morton, of the Columbia, Missouri Police Department who was introduced in Case #3, asks for their help. Over the last year, three college freshmen girls have been murdered and their bodies put in dumpsters. Each of the victims is pregnant. They are to find the guilty party.

"Case 5: The Poker Chip Vigilante": In this case, FBI Agent Fred Maxwell tells them of a sniper who is killing drug dealers and leaving poker chips at the location of his sniper's nest. They give suggestions as to how to catch the sniper. This story has an unusual twist at the end.

"Case 6: The Disappearing Relatives": Two uncles and an aunt of Ann go missing. The local sheriff and CID are unable to find them. Phillip is able to figure out what happened.

"Case 7: The Ritual Murders": This case was suggested by a friend, Dick Cobb. The case involves three murders which have close resemblance to three tortures described in Masonic ceremonies. 200 investigators have been unable to come up with a suspect.

"Case 8: Stopping The Big Payout": The part about the missing woman was suggested by a friend, Alan Pierce. An insurance company investigator contacts Unsolved Investigations for help. A woman disappeared without a trace six years and ten months earlier. The husband is about to have his wife declared legally dead unless they can prove that she is alive or the husband killed her.
