This is the third book in the "Fortune" series and set in 1880.
Ty Fortune continues his gambling alone. He starts in Cheyenne in Wyoming Territory, goes to Denver Colorado, Topeka Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri. During these travels he makes a lot of money, twice has two people try to rob him, encounters new ways of cheating, and finds a ranch he wants to buy. In "Fortune II" he proposed to Liz Chandler and she turned him down, saying that she wanted to just travel and play poker, in this book she breaks his heart.
